Is sky tv trying to get me to upgrade by cutting my signal?

Hi all, so ive got a old sky hd box which has been completely fine up until a month ago,now despite all attempts no satellite signal received, nothing different has happened, sky has been trying to get me to upgrade to a qbox for a year now,im feeling suspicious or paranoid that they have purposely cut my signal in an attempt to move me and everyone over to this box as ive been told by their sales staff they want sky+completely phased out.!anyone in the same situation?
If this is the case is there any way i can watch channels 1-5 on tv without installing a new aerial,is there a device i can buy so i can cancel sky altogether??

I phoned sky about my sky hd box not working properly and they've given me a Q box for free.

Have you tried telling them you want to cancel sky altogether? They will probably come up with a hefty discount!

If you stop your sky subscription the box should just become a freesat receiver, no recording and free channels only. Once you stop subscriptions you lose access to all recordings.

Plenty of old sky boxes on eBay for buttons. If you want to record there is just one freesat recorder box available in the UK unless you buy a second hand Humax.
