I had a really lovely day today

That's it really.

Husband had his first work day out of the house in a year. He left at 7am and got home at 9pm.

Me and the boys had two breakfasts, walked in the woods with their auntie, collected sticks. Then home had lunch, pottered in the garden, the boys found a dinosaur fossil in the garden (????). We had early dinner and did puzzles.

I was dreading it but it was lovely.

Anyone else have a really simple yet lovely day?

Went for a nice walk with a friend. Turned out warmer than expected. Blossom on the apple trees looked lovely. Hit 10000 steps.

We went for a long drive around the countryside in the sunshine. Out of the house for 4 and a half hours, after doing a bit of shopping on the way back. Lovely.

I spent the day reading. It was a quiet and content day despite 6 of us in the house. It was too cold for a walk.

That does sound lovely. We met up outside with my cousin and her two girls. We’ve not seen them since October. The kids were so delighted to be back together and just played, climbed trees and ran around. It was cold but lovely.

I need a simple yet lovely thread against the backdrop of stress in my life.

Today we enjoyed the sunshine at the park. The boys are currently relaxing hunting for a mouse in the garden and I'm enjoying a coffee.

That's lovely.

DS2 had a good settling in session at nursery and I made a nice chocolate sponge. Will ice and decorate it tonight when the DC are in bed...am attempting to make a train track with Gordon on it. Wish me luck!

I am on my own at home for the first time in months. It feels weird but lovely.

I've been at my mum's doing gardening jobs. Had a good catch up with my SIL whilst hacking back the shrubs and a really good bacon and egg roll. I'm now drinking tea and plan to finish my book (The midnight library - it's very enjoyable).
I'm trying to enjoy simple things that don't involve my boys this Easter since all they've wanted to do is go out with their friends - I mean, who can blame them when they've been stuck with me and their dad for months, but I'm a teacher and feeling a little untethered having a school holiday where they're not really around.

All my days are simple these days ;

But yes we went to the woods for hours and dc built a huge den and youngest was very excited about the forest
