My mains wired fire alarms go off when my neighbours across the roads do....

Just that really. That’s not right, is it? The other week all 3 of my alarms were going off and I couldn’t stop them, they kept doing it, I knew my neighbour over the road (opposite, but one if that makes sense) was having something done to hers. So I went out and asked the company dealing with it if they’d just tested the alarms, because mine had gone off and seems like a strange coincidence, they said there’s no way, must be a weird coincidence after all. They’ve been repeatedly going off tonight, I’ve called the company who are coming out to check them, but in the mean time I’ve asked my neighbour if she’s set hers off and she has.

Is this normal? Surely not?

Anyone? Before I sound like a crazy lady when the man comes out 😩

Set yours off and see if hers go off too Grin

It has to be a coincidence, how would they be linked? I’d love to know the outcome though

Ghosts maybe?

A coincidence twice?! Baring in mine other than these 2 times my alarms have never gone off! I sound mad. I can’t wait for them to get here!

I specifically text he and said have your alarms just gone off? She said “yes why?” And no chance of me hearing them to know, I was just curious after last time.

@Totallyworthit you’re the only person who wanted to know, I have nobody else to tell so here I am 🤣 apparently, they work via an infrared system, the guy said he has never known it to travel so far, very very odd that it’s not an immediate neighbour, but yes, somehow, my alarms had synced to the neighbours. He said one of them shouldn’t have gone off, because it’s not linked to the system, but it did, and I have no explanation for that! All very weird and he’s reset them so all “should” be fine now! What a lovely thing to have to take to chance 🤦🏻‍♀️

Very odd indeed! 🤞 the reset stops it happening from now on. @usedandabusedx1000

Possibly radio interlinked alarms? Is it a newish build?

AppleDolphin · 09/04/2021 17:12

I was interested too! I'd saved it in my watch list! Hahaha

So he's reset them and now all ok? Fingers crossed!

🤣 @AppleDolphin I feel a real sense of achievement that my thread has been saved in your watch list looool

Fingers crossed all should be fine now, soon find out if ever the place goes up in flames!!!
