Covering letter for school job

Morning all,

I am in the middle of applying for a job within a school (non qualified role), along the lines of helping in pastoral/admin etc.

I have completed the application form and need to write a covering letter but I am struggling. I’ve never worked in a school so can’t draw from previous experience.

Any pointers on what to include? Are there any specifics which are useful to include for a school setting. I think the role will involve regular contact with pupils also.

Whilst I meet all of the criteria for the job, I want to say the right things to give me a better chance. It’s a high school if that’s relevant.

Any advice would be very welcome!

Thank you Grin

Despite not having much to do directly with the children, you will still have to demonstrate a knowledge and understanding of safeguarding. It's huge in schools. You will have to have yearly training/refreshers, whatever your roll within the school. It might be worth mentioning in a paragraph.
Also, confidentiality, it's a biggie! Again, yearly training will be given.
