What model and generation of Mazda 6?

VeniVidiWeeWee · 07/04/2021 23:32

Also, what are the dimensions of the bike?

We've given up our old Mazda 6 (it was really old) DH and DS are cyclists, you could get one in the back with the back seat down. However if both of them were riding you would need a bike rack.

It's a 4 year old saloon model. Apparently the backseat won't fold down apparently. The bike is 22inches I think.

It fits in my Hyundai i10 with the front wheel off.

If it's a saloon and the seats won't fold down, you might struggle, especially if 22 inches is the frame size, rather than that of the wheels or overall.

Is this a one off or regular thing?

As a one off, take both wheels off if necessary, but that's a bit faffy for every day.

People who transport bikes regularly tend to get quick release skewers for the front wheel at least, so it takes seconds to remove and replace the wheel.

If you're competent with bikes, it's not a huge bother to take both wheels off, but sorting out the chain and gears on the back is a bit much to be doing regularly, but ok for occasionally, eg if you're taking the bike on holiday and want the bike locked inside the car.
