Anyone with a tempur mattress?

Which one did you get? I’ve tried them in the shop and ruled out the cloud as it’s too soft but can’t decide between the original (medium) and sensation (firm). DH likes the original but I’m a bit concerned that as the night goes on you would sink into it too much. The sensation did feel quite firm but I preferred the feel of it. Got a Simba 4 weeks ago and it’s making my sore back worse so planning to send it back. Love my tempur pillows so going to get the mattress, just can’t decide between the two.

Sex is crap on them, just something to bear in mind if you are too houseproud/house share.

Watching with interest, we're sending our new Simba back too...

Got a super king tempur and detest it. Agree re sex. And sleeping if you aren't a deep sleeper!!

Why? We were going to get one!
MrsRobinsonsHandprints · 07/04/2021 20:47

You are certainly not going to get ballsdeep on one, in fact to maintain any position or generally move with any grace or comfort is impossible, I imagine when it was designed for NASA they didn't plan for people going at it like rabbits.

I actually slept well on it although we did wear out the sofa.

We’ve been happy with the Sensation for a few years.

Never even thought about whether it’s affected our sex life! 😂

PoptartPoptart · 07/04/2021 22:10

I disagree about the sex thing.. never been a problem here! In fact, it’s better actually because there are no creaky springs making a noise to give us away (we have teenagers in the house who would definitely be completely grossed out if they heard the bed creaking Grin )

candle18 · 07/04/2021 22:15

@PoptartPoptart Do you find the sensation to be quite firm or does it feel softer once you’ve been in bed a while?

It definitely feels firmer when you first get into bed, then the mattress sort of moulds to your body - but without sinking down if that makes sense. Or perhaps it’s just that you get used to the firmness after a few minutes.
I know not everyone will agree, but I can honestly say that our Tempur mattress was one of the best investments we ever made.
Even now (4 years later) DH will still get into bed and randomly say ‘well done on choosing the mattress Poptart’ Grin

We've had ours 2 years (and spent a fortune on it) and will get rid of it later this year. I like firm beds and it feels firm when you get in it but you basically slowly sink. I like to toss and turn in bed and once you're 'settled' into a position it's hard to do that. DH and I also find that we now sleep further apart because the bed essentially creates us our own little trenches and I miss being closer to him. I agree that there's no squeaky beds during sex, but it's a lot less manoeuvrable iyswim...

StormcloakNord · 09/04/2021 06:32

Ohhh I we have the cloud luxe and I love it.

I used to think I really liked firm mattresses until I bought this one and now I cannot stand getting onto a springy hard mattress!

We've never had much of an issue with sex but agree it's definitely more difficult to manoeuvre around compared to a sprung mattress. We manage though!

We got our mattress two months ago. Brilliant for us both, large people with bad backs. I think without it we would be still bent double from our recent move. A couple of things if you turnover it is like rolling a cheese up a hill. Second I get very hot (could be old age) . Finally does anyone know if I should use a mattress topper? It has a protective cover but I have always had a quilted topper under my sheet.
