Has anyone ever got into shape while pregnant?

I'm 20 weeks at the moment and my BMI was only just on the border between healthy/overweight when I got pregnant. However my husband took a photo of me this morning and I look like a blancmange and now I'm feeling shite.

With summer approaching I'd quite like to start some sort of exercise routine. My pregnancy isnt too bad at the moment in terms of symptoms so I want to take a advantage!

Has anyone ever done this and managed to get rid of some of the 'wobble' before birth?

Your not supposed to start any new exercises I'm sure when ur pregnant. Fine if uv always done it as ur body is used so it but I really wouldn't at 20 weeks. Maybe something gentle though like pregnancy yoga or Pilates might be ok. Check with your midwife.

There’s nothing wrong with getting more active, but don’t go to extremes. I’ve done yoga and swimming through my pregnancies and walked a lot until my pelvis became too painful.

I used to work out a lot before lockdown, but my gym was at work so I've not been in a year! Not sure if my body would still be used to it or not tbh.

Your bump will grow bigger and firmer and you will feel less blamange like :) but maybe more beachball like 🤰🏼
Walking and swimming (if that’s possible at the moment) are great during pregnancy. Doing some regular exercise will help you to avoid too much pain in your muscles and ligaments. Pregnancy exercise /yoga classes can be nice but the emphasis will be on supporting your body through pregnancy not toning up or getting into shape.
But, most importantly, be kind to yourself - you’re body is busy growing another person. Tell your husband to take more flattering pictures!
