Help me build a wedding playlist

DP and I are hopefully getting married in September. We're having a small wedding reception in our local tearoom so no disco/DJ but we'd like some background music.

We're not big fans of traditional love songs so no Celine Dion type stuff. We like Muse, Smashing Pumpkins, New Order, Pet Shop Boys, Ash plus a bit of Motown/Disco/80s pop thrown in!

Our song is Gravity by Embrace. So far we've got about an hours worth of songs but that will get boring very quickly. So who can suggest any more songs?

Top tip: ask your guests to nominate three songs that will get them up and dancing.

Some fave 70s / disco hits for dancing:

Wild Cherry -play that funky music
Kool and the Gang - Get down on it, Greatest Dancer
Steve Wonder - Master blaster
Donna Summer - I feel love
Billy Ocean - Red light spells danger
The Contours - Do I Love You
Rose Royce - Car Wash

Is that the sort of thing?

A small wedding in a tearoom, think I’d go for something a bit more relaxed. You can buy great background music.Like you said it’s not a disco and the people, presumably closest friends, will be happily chatting.Your playlist is the sort of music you have for the disco after the wedding breakfast and speeches, when the oldies can make their excuses and leave the “youngsters” to it.

Some 80s suggestions:
Somewhere in my heart - Aztec Camera
Enola Gay - OMD
Take on Me - Aha
Let's go crazy - Prince
Birdhouse in your soul - They might be Giants (90s)

And also. Dancing Queen, Wake Me Up Before You Go Go, YMCA, Don’t Stop Me Now, Love Really Hurts Without You, Tragedy.

Yeah I really would get suggestions from guests - it means they really enjoy the music too and, when I did it, I discovered some great songs id never heard before
