Shattered, but wide awake. So many things racing through my mind.
What is your excuse to be up?.

Reinventinganna · 07/04/2021 00:58

I work night shift so struggle on my days off. Are you okay?

MerryGoRoundBrain · 07/04/2021 00:59

Hi OP! Exactly the same: shattered beyond belief but brain won’t stop.
Want to share your worries? Flowers

liverpool1981 · 07/04/2021 01:00

Struggling tonight. Was off the booze for Lent and drank all weekend. Had no energy all day had two naps and I am paying for it now.

Pebbledashery · 07/04/2021 01:04

Hello all. Hope you're ok xx
Just can't switch off tonight. Got so much going on at the moment. Going through the family court with my horribly violent ex, I'm a single working parent and life is just full on.. I've not been enjoying my job of late either so I went for an interview for a post in the NHS which I got offered.. It's an amazing opportunity but just worried about being up to scratch and also having to hand my notice in, feel guilty and anxious!

Topseyt · 07/04/2021 01:06

Struggling tonight. Tomorrow (well, today I suppose) is my Dad's funeral. I have to deliver part of the eulogy.

My mind just won't slow down enough to let me sleep.

MerryGoRoundBrain · 07/04/2021 01:07

Firstly, congratulations on getting out of an abusive relationship. Also, massive congratulations on getting the job. Well done you! Don’t feel guilty about wanting to develop your career, we spend so much of our lives at work that any chance of improvement should be grabbed and made the most of!

Pebbledashery · 07/04/2021 01:07

@topseyt ah I'm so sorry xx makes all my issues seem like non issues.. I'm sure your dad is very proud of you standing up and delivering his eulogy xx I hope it goes as well as it can go xx

MerryGoRoundBrain · 07/04/2021 01:09

@Topseyt so sorry for your loss Flowers

Pebbledashery · 07/04/2021 01:11

Thank you @merrygoroundbrain that's lovely xx
I know, its too good of an opportunity to pass up.. Just going to be a big change as its working in a hospital 5 days a week when I've been remote working for a year now but I'm looking forward to the challenge.
How are you feeling?

MerryGoRoundBrain · 07/04/2021 01:15

@Pebbledashery my worries seem very trivial in comparison. We’re in the process of selling our house and looks like the seller of our new house changed their mind. I hate the thought of renting whilst we’re looking for another house. I’m just lying in bed, imagining us squeezed into a tiny flat and hating life..

Pebbledashery · 07/04/2021 01:26

@merrygoroundbrain that's not trivial at all. I would absolutely hate that too :( when you've owned a property it's very hard to want to rent afterwards.. Just seems like wasted money. And I say that as a renter! Have you put an offer in that they accepted?

OP posts:
MerryGoRoundBrain · 07/04/2021 01:32

@Pebbledashery yes, they accepted but it looks like they no longer want to sell. I’m not opposed to the idea of renting in principle but it needs to be somewhere nearby because I don’t want to uproot DS (or spend the next few months ferrying him to school or activities). Sigh. We shall see, nothing I can do.

Hfjshdhs · 07/04/2021 02:51

Hope you’re all asleep now. I’m up with a teething baby. Also have recently been having some anxious thoughts at night which are stopping me sleeping. Must figure out a way to keep them in check.

Ikora · 07/04/2021 02:58

I had an argument with my DS, I am beyond annoyed.

MyPatchworkQuilt · 07/04/2021 03:11

I had a long phone call with a family member who is going through some issues.

For once, things are ok with me,but not been able to switch off and have so much to do tomorrow. Carefully balanced health and priorities are possibly going to debalance but I will not let this happen lol. Night night Flowers.

RJnomore1 · 07/04/2021 03:31

I had root canal treatment yesterday and I grind my teeth in my sleep so every time I nod off I wake myself with pain.

It will pass and I hope the mental pain/stress passes for those of you awake with that too 💐

Lovelydovey · 07/04/2021 03:35

Me - my DM has refused further treatment for covid and will be with us only days and hours. I’m keeping my DB company via text as he sits with her in hospital (she is now non responsive) and trying to not miss my alarm as I will take over from him at 6am. She will shortly be with my DF, who passed away at the end of January from Covid.

Ranunculaceae · 07/04/2021 03:45

Topsey, sorry for the loss of your dad.

OP, you’ve got a lot on your plate but things will get easier with every hurdle you clear.

Lovely, that must be really hard for you both 🙁.

Just work here, my mind is working overtime, I’ll be sorry when my alarm goes off at 5am.

Flappityflippers1 · 07/04/2021 04:02

I’m up with a newborn - I forgot how bloody shit they are at sleeping. I’m also exclusively pumping for him so on top of feeds, I need to express too (which he seems to want hourly at night only! Happy to go 3 hours by day 😡)

He is also so noisy when he is asleep. Constant snuffling, snorting and general NOISE.

Between midnight and 6am I basically don’t sleep. (Hubby has him downstairs 8/9pm-midnight so I get some sleep, then gets up with older DS and takes (the then miraculously QUIET) baby down at 6)

Enjoying the newborn-ness much more this time around, but god I detest the lack of sleep.

52andblue · 07/04/2021 04:21

Hello, fellow wide awake club people.
Lots on my mind, and now waking up with hot flashes too. I'm sorry to hear of those losing parents and with job worries. My life is limited (I'm a now single parent to 2 teens with ASD so I live on Carers allowance and am unable to work. I love them mire than I can say, but an isolated life on shaky benefits is hard) Harder without sleep though - fingers crossed I get some more tonight. And for all of us too x

Tickledtrout · 07/04/2021 04:24

@Lovelydovey I am so sorry for what you're going through. @Topseyt deepest sympathies to you too.
Nothing too serious on my mind- work stuff mostly. Not tired enough to sleep maybe?
Had my babies later in life and seem to have gone from newborns and young children to perimenopause to menopause to just out of the habit. Need more physical exercise than I'm currently getting to sleep through.
Wishing you all rest and peace, if not sleepFlowers

BlackeyedSusan · 07/04/2021 04:30
