Separate washer/dryer over combined?

We’ve had leak from our washing machine and need to replace the cupboards so have an opportunity through need to do something about it. I’m guessing losing a cupboard space in a utility is worth it to add in a separate tumble dryer rather than have a combined?
The older people get it doesn’t seem like less washing from babies!
Have an outside line but thinking drying would be easier and a combined would take too long?

I had a combined washer dryer. Small capacity, even smaller drying capacity, never seemed to dry terribly well and repeatedly broke down. We ended up stacking machines to get separate ones. I’d always choose separate machines if I could, especially if I had multiple people to wash for (I’d consider a combination machine as a single person in a tiny flat for example).

I prefer having separate, it’s more convenient and I can have one load washing and another drying at the same time. My mum has a washer drier and I find the clothes come out more creased than mine.

Every single drying function in a combined washer/dryer has been tonk in my experience!
