Artificial fake grass recommendations?

We’ve got an average size lawn which survives the kids playing on it well. We’ve got a corner that’s quite dark shaded by the shed. Thinking of turning it into a little adult sitting out space (sanctuary) and thinking about artificial grass not patio. But I don’t want it to look fake fake so are the newer ones more natural? If it wasn’t one that needed to withstand the kids and dog etc, but more light footfall/people sitting?
I know it’s not environmentally the best.

Probably your best bet is to go to a showroom, they are often located in garden centres or the like. Alternatively you can order samples online.
We have just had artificial grass put down in our tiny garden. It doesn't look exactly like real grass as its very even and doesn't have big patches of mud and moss (or was that just my lawn Grin) but visitors have said its very realistic and its brilliant.

Thanks! What did you get?

Please don't, it's really fugly and you're absolutely right, it's environmentally awful, providing zero habitat for insects and small mammals.

Agree with the above poster, it's awful, and horrible for the environment.

What about wood chips or gravel?
