So my ds has been walking for about 7 weeks now (as you can imagine lots of bumps and falls!) and has a few bruises popped up- hang around a couple of weeks and then they fade. He has had one on his stomach for around 10 days now, which initially I didn’t think much of, but a week ago I felt a small pea like lump under it. If it was a bruise on his leg or head etc, I’d have expected the lump but not here. When thinking about it, I also couldn’t account for myself ever having a bruise on somewhere like my stomach. Took him to dr, who has referred him for blood tests. He thinks the lump is a harmless cyst and that the bruise is not to worry about, but still sent form anyway. Blood test still over a month away, so now I’m panicking and can’t find anything about it online.
- he is perfectly happy and healthy, good eater, drinker, nappies, sleep etc. No cause for concern
- neither bruise nor lump bother him at all when touched/pressed/moved by me or dr
- he is with me all day long (literally never left my sight in his life!) so I’m not concerned that it is abuse etc. The bruise is in the exact position of where he likes to lean against the coffee table so my best guess is that he ran at it a little fast.
I guess my question is, have you ever had your kid have a bruise on their stomach? Lumps? Etc?
