The last one is C’est la vie by Bewitched. (Slinks off in embarrassment!)

Honeyroar · 08/04/2021 19:04

And the previous one is Everyone’s gotta learn sometime but I don’t know who it was by. A dance hit but probably a cover too.

NeedToKnow101 · 08/04/2021 19:06

@RogueMNerKnowsNoShame

Barnsley 🤣🤣🤣

Hey, I've just thought of a great first line that I should have included the other day:

My dear children

Not exactly a pop record.
Anyone know it?

so, no one got this one ^

I'm not ready for bed right now!

I have a ridiculous theme for one. I'm kind of smirking at whoever checks in first in the morning at being confronted by this.

Didn't ring a bell with any of you?

Try these: (no year, no artist, just the songs) Zero points unless you get my "my dear children" reference...

Watch them, catch them unawares

The rails were froze, the wheels were cold,
And then the air brakes wouldn't hold,

Round and round
Round and round

Up and down the city road
In and out of the eagle

He stuck a feather in his hat
And called it macaroni

For baby and me
For baby and me
And there will be plenty for baby and me

Out came the sun
And dried up all the rain

Short and stout

Sukey take it off again

To Bombay

Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily

On a cold and frosty morning

To see what he could see

The little dog laughed to see such fun

Going clip-clippety-clop on the stair

Every Time I Hear You Whistle... It Makes My Nylon Bristle...

An' patched up the crack in the liberty bell

CoffeeBeansGalore · 09/04/2021 01:04

Morning Rogue, insomnia strikes again!

Children's songs and nursery rhymes.

Round and round
Round and round

  • The wheels on the bus

Up and down the city road
In and out of the eagle

  • Pop goes the weasel

He stuck a feather in his hat
And called it macaroni

  • Yankee doodle dandy

Out came the sun
And dried up all the rain

  • Incy wincey spider

Short and stout

  • I'm a little teapot

Sukey take it off again

  • Polly put thd kettle on

To Bombay

  • Nellie the elephant?

Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily

  • Row row row your boat

On a cold and frosty morning

  • Here we go round the Mulberry bush

To see what he could see

  • A sailor went to sea

The little dog laughed to see such fun

  • Hey diddle diddle

Going clip-clippety-clop on the stair

  • An old windmill in Amsterdam

NeedToKnow101 · 09/04/2021 09:53

Morning! I don't think my favourite is in there? Wind the bobbin up. An absolute classic that one.

Just heard this..

What were the skies like when you were young?
90s

RogueMNerKnowsNoShame · 09/04/2021 10:11

Morning all.

Not sure of yours needtoknow.

All guesses correct, except it was a bear went over the mountain, not a sailor went to sea.

I didn’t do wind the bobbin because that reminds me of DD’s childhood not mine.

There’s still a few outstanding. I’ll repost when I get near the computer

Happy Friday everyone

shinynewapple21 · 09/04/2021 10:12

Morning Smile

Is the rails were froze one The Runaway Train ?

RogueMNerKnowsNoShame · 09/04/2021 10:12

@CoffeeBeansGalore

My dear children - Read with mother?
I don’t know read with mother, coffee. There used to be listen with mother.

So none else had a young person’s guide to the orchestra? It’s peter and the wolf

RogueMNerKnowsNoShame · 09/04/2021 10:13

Yes, shiny

shinynewapple21 · 09/04/2021 10:17

What about this one ? A sort of children's song but supposedly about non-childhood things !

Painted wings and giant's rings make way for other toys
