Fragrance free alternative to Savlon

Dilbertian · 05/04/2021 19:16

I've been putting Savlon on the children's scrapes since forever, but it seems that dd is following in my footsteps and has become sensitive to fragrances. Savlon is now making her skin itchy.

Are there any soothing antiseptic creams that are fragrance free?

I didn't even know savlon was scented. I thought it was just the smell of the active ingredients. I'm surprised anyone would add that medicinal scent on purpose.

Aveeno is good. It dries in, I have weird dry skin and oils and fragrances etc really irritate me, but this doesn't. E45 is good.

Yes, Savlon is perfumed.

Aveeno and E45 are not antiseptics.

Germolene? I've just looked at the ingredients and perfume isn't there.

Germolene - there's another blast from the past! I shall try it, thanks for reminding me about it.

You don't need a antiseptic cream, and once opened they are a hazard. Wash cuts and grazes with clean water, maybe an alcohol wipe if not near water. Done.

Yep! Also Germolene stinks! So she’ll probably react to that too.
