Link to YouTube/ the Jay Rayner Quartet

TheHeathenOfSuburbia · 06/04/2021 19:32

Yes I have a thing for Jay Rayner Grin
Mainly from his writing... and a feeling that his love of food would translate into general sensual pleasures

fistasledge · 06/04/2021 19:38

Tickets £30 to see Jay Rayner Quartet end of May at the Crazy Coqs

Venue has reduced capacity and table service for cocktails.

If anyone is near London and likes him, I thoroughly recommend for a lovely evening (but appreciate times are different from when I went in 2019!)

And no, I'm not on commission!

That's a very white jazz quartet! 😆

cerealgamechanger · 06/04/2021 20:31

🤮

cerealgamechanger · 06/04/2021 20:37

@DollyMinx

JR could pass for Llewlyn Bowen's skid row brother.

😂😂😂

glitterypencilcase · 06/04/2021 20:38

Ooo no. Love Jay Rayner on the telly but not in my bed.

Marcus Wareing however.... Grin

Nohomemadecandles · 06/04/2021 20:40

I spent the evening with James Martin years ago. He was an arrogant, sneery arsehole. I was v disappointed!

DuchessOfBuggerAll · 06/04/2021 20:43

Jay Rayner's review of Le Cinq in Paris was what made me think yes - yes I would. It's sheer genius!

What! Aw how disappointing

Nohomemadecandles · 06/04/2021 20:45

Quite like JR though. He is good value I think

Allgirlskidsanddogs · 06/04/2021 20:49

I wouldn’t kick him out as I would never have let him in in the first place! Ugh.

Nohomemadecandles · 06/04/2021 20:50

@GreenSlide I was gutted! I'd really imagined him to be lovely and down to earth but the only person he made any eye contact with (or acknowledged in any pleasant way)was the v wealthy (and equally arseholey) CEO of a large retail company who was baning on about his winnebago all night. JM was dismissive and short with everyone else.

DomingoinLittleOakley · 06/04/2021 20:54

@Tig33

I also find Antony Worral Thompson attractive though
I think this is possibly the most revolting thing I've ever read on Mumsnet. YABU.

Gentlemen with their nieces 😆

I absolutely adore Jay. And his mum.
There is an epic picture of her being winched off a cruise ship by a helicopter when she was poorly. It sums up her indomitable spirit

Pedallleur · 06/04/2021 21:14

Met him once at a talk where I work. V.funny, not a tv luvvie, ordinary guy made good but did help with who his mother was. Went to Leeds Uni. Enjoyed working with him.

Beans13 · 06/04/2021 21:18

Oh yes OP!!!! Marcus Wareing too! Grin

Clawdy · 06/04/2021 22:23

When I had my DD, in her early weeks, when I was struggling, I used to watch Clare Rayner on breakfast tv, and desperately wish she was my mum! I used to imagine her coming round, taking over the baby, and telling me to go and have a sleep.....So I guess in my dreams, Jay would have been my brother! Grin

buzzy1 · 06/04/2021 22:36

Wouldn’t, but enjoy JR’s writing and his last couple of books were great reads (and if you would you might like his theory about men who like oysters..)

Notcontent · 06/04/2021 22:39

i am sure he would be great fun to have dinner with. But it’s a bit sad what too much food and booze dies to people’s health. There has to be a middle ground.

buzzy1 · 06/04/2021 22:40

Got my wouldn’t and woulda mixed up Blush

DateLoaf · 06/04/2021 22:58

I met his mum Claire Rayner at a do and she was lovely. I loved his ashes scattering piece. He’s got to be a decent bloke.

AgentProvocateur · 07/04/2021 14:11

I think that’s quite enough internet for me for today, thanks 🤮🤮 @Tig33

Thelema72 · 07/04/2021 14:22

God yes, he's a big sexy beast, I would ride him into next week
Ultimate would be Marco Pierre White though, I can imagine him being all dominant with a spatula
I'd let him truss me up like a turkey and give me a good stuffing 😋

FleetwoodRaincoat · 07/04/2021 14:29

I used to fancy the bloke in Big Cook Little Cook many moons ago. He always looked like he'd be filthy ...
