We moved into the house over 2 years ago and still haven't decorated the front room. We'r getting new windows in next week though and that's going to be the kick up the arse I need to finally sort it out.
I literally have nothing in there at the minute apart form junk so its a totally blank canvas apart from the parquet flooring which I love. There's a plastered hole in the chimney breast waiting for something to go into it (probably a woodburning stove which we'll almost likely never light apart from Christmas). There are 2 wall radiators column style dark grey ones on the long wall which makes a natural place for a sofa to go in between them.
The room gets late afternoon sun and evening sun and is really bright. It'll be the grown up room, somewhere for DH and I to retreat to to practice guitar / read / have a quiet coffee and potentially for me to put the family piano in which currently resides at my parents house and they're waiting for us to take. TV isn't a must but thinking forward when the kids are bigger we can let them have the tv in the snug and DH and I can watch the one in the front room if we want to watch different things. Theres no TV in bedrooms or anywhere else in the house so makes sense to give us the option when we need it.
I love bold colours but don't want to go mad a paint the walls a dark colour in case I hate it! I love deep pthalo blues and greens, also love yellow, mustards and oranges.
What do I need to buy? how do I lay it out? Im totally lost!!!!
