Has anyone done Jillian Michaels Beginner Shred?

I've downloaded it because I found the 30 Day Shred a bit hard going so thought this might ease me into it and be something I can commit to rather than giving up after only a few days! Just curious to see if anyone has done it and what your results were if so?

I've done it recently and actually really enjoyed it. I'm reasonably active cardio wise and although I've lost a lot of weight in the last year (before starting Jillian) am still a couple of stone overweight, but I was an absolute novice on this type of exercise. There were a few moves that I struggled with, the superman to start with (but I can do it now) and the lunges I couldn't do at their speed but I just did as much as I could, and even practiced the odd move outside of doing the DVD because I wanted to be able to do it properly.

I didn't lose any weight doing it but definitely lost a couple of inches round the waist (didn't actually measure, but my trousers were definitely much looser) and improved muscle strength (though my legs and arms absolutely killed me afterwards for the first three days!). I did it 5 days a week over 6 weeks.

I'm now up to Level 2 of 30 day shred and doubt I'd be here without having done the Beginner Shred first. The moves are very much the same in Beginner Shred, but a little bit easier, a little bit slower, and there aren't the cardio sections like in 30DS which definitely helped in the beginning. And Jillian is a bit more encouraging and positive and motivating, (I find her a bit abrupt in 30DS), which definitely helped with wanting to do it.

I'm seeing much better results for weight loss and arm definition on 30 day shred but would absolutely recommend Beginner Shred as a way into it.

I have done it and couldn’t rate it highly enough. Only time I ever developed abs was doing this program. However.. It’s not great in the knees and after an non excersize injury, doing this makes me knee swell every time

Oh fab, thank you! I think I'll give it a go!
