Just saw the most wonderfully dressed, stylish lady. How do put together people do it?

Because I looked like a bag of washing.

She was in all white and every garment was gleaming. Beautiful shoes, not a scuff on them, and matching bedazzled mask!

If I wore white, dirt would actually gravitate towards me!

They probably don't have children 🙈

Tryingtowritelikeahumanbeing · 04/04/2021 14:03

Was she in a magazine?

PeachesFromGeorgia · 04/04/2021 14:04

Nope! On the street- I think either coming or going to church.

Are you sure she wasn't filming an advert for sanitary products?

Ooh Bodyform, bodyform for yoooou!

Tryingtowritelikeahumanbeing · 04/04/2021 14:07

That explains it. "Church clothes" or "Sunday best" is a thing 😆

imaginethemdragons · 04/04/2021 14:13

Yup. No kids.

I do find myself looking at folk in a whimsical manner admiring their taste and wondering how on earth they can be arsed.

I just can’t do it. I’m always a scruffy mess.
I go for comfort, but would love to look “put together” and nice.

vampirethriller · 04/04/2021 14:15

Money and no small children.

CuthbertDibbleandGrubb · 04/04/2021 14:16

Probably not of UK heritage. The French and Italians have style, for example.

ScepticalBandicoot · 04/04/2021 14:17

If she was going to or from church she was probably wearing white for Easter, and maybe got changed just for the service. I doubt she wears white every day! Though maybe she is that stylish every day, who knows.

MogHog · 04/04/2021 14:18

Isnt white a colour worn at Easter? I'm sure I sure some spiritual programme earlier and noticed that the majority were in white. Not sure if its a thing or just coincidence.

WiseOwlOne · 04/04/2021 14:19

Is that a thing? to wear all white at easter? I never knew that.

I'd be very stressed in an all white outfit, couldn't relax. Would the outfit work in ecru?

PeachesFromGeorgia · 04/04/2021 14:23

It was the sort of white Persil would have envied. Shoes, trousers, blouse, coat, scarf!

She was slightly older (60s maybe) so probably no small children, yes.

The way she carried it off though- she did have that French/ Italian glamour.

There’s a woman who walks her dachsund up our street who looks like this.

We call her ‘Killing It Woman’ because whatever she’s doing, she is just killing it. If she wears a scarf, it’s perfectly draped, hair in a chic steel-grey cut, shades, European-looking clothes, if she’s wearing linen it’s never creased.

I can only look on in awe. Even her dog is stylish.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 04/04/2021 14:30

I have a work mate, my age, she always looks great and well put together in a practical but good looking way. But then she is interested in clothes, make up and skin care and puts the effort and time in.

Whereas I very much do not.

PeachesFromGeorgia · 04/04/2021 14:34

Linen creases if I look at it, never mind wear it!

Was she slim?

In non covid times at Easter there used to be a procession of people from the Methodist church through the village on Easter Sunday.

All in white and carrying a crucifix. Thankfully the Methodist church has gone bust and closed down now.

Lol. What a stereotype. Plenty of unstylish French and Italian woman around. They aren't all obsessed with looking amazing.

wandawombat · 04/04/2021 14:40

No kids here, look like I've been dragged through a hedge. Even if I tried, it would be terrible.

I had a friend who could wear white, she had really bad MS & even if I had to go help her get up after falling, she still looked fabulous. The sort of lady who hosted "at home" days. Sigh.

PeachesFromGeorgia · 04/04/2021 14:53

No, not particularly slim at all. I would have guessed a size 12-14.
