I love my mum but every now and then she does something that makes me raise an eyebrow.
Years ago, we went on a family holiday to Italy. At a local restaurant, my mum ordered an espresso and the waiter very tactfully corrected her pronunciation from, "ex-presso" to "es-presso." This is great except now she uses "es-presso" for everything. The other day she was just popping to Tesco "espress." She asked me this morning, over the phone, when I was considering "espressing" my breast milk for my baby...
Another one is hair cuts. About 40 years ago my mum did a course at night school to learn hairdressing. I'm not sure what skills she learnt as when she cut my ds1 hair, she cut the back but left the front because the curls "were cute." It looked like some awful reverse mullet that I had to fix with kitchen scissors.
