Seems Riverford have them but sold out at the moment. On Amazon they sell seeds only. Waitrose/ Tesco/ Sainsburys/ Asda - nada.

Is it really so hard to come by?

They're not in season, right ow, so would have to be imported.

Fair enough, however I don’t think I’ve ever seen them in any supermarkets? Today I had a trip down the memory lane and remembered my mother and grandmother making them - every so often they pop intp my head but I’ve never been able to find them. This time I’m determined Grin - bought some pickled ones and they did not hit the spot!

In the title it should have been “patty pan” squash.

We grow them in the summer, but don't see them in the shops.
Easy to grow if you have a sunny spot big enough for a grow bag.

Turnips at Borough Market sells them and you can order online, but only when they're in season.

Thanks, Pick and Peckham.

Off to check the Turnips online, TheNested. I’m actually not that far from the Borough Market - looks like a nice day out in the summer searching for patty pan squash. And maybe some oysters 😋

People on another forum I’m on are raving so I went looking for seeds today. Out of the massive amount of vegetable seeds, there was ONE packet variety in a huge range at the garden centre, James Wong, apparently a head botanist at Kew or something. Amazon said delivery within 2 months, ebay is slow so I was happy to find these. I have planted the seeds today, edge on as advised. I am told they crop massively, can’t wait!
