You know in some kids medicine spoons, it’s a 5ml spoon, but there’s a measure inside the spoon for 2.5ml of liquid?

What search terms would a person use to find one of these to buy that’s a table spoon with a teaspoon line in it?

Any help appreciated Flowers

Adjustable measuring spoon?

Returnoftheowl · 01/04/2021 23:15

I'd also suggest adjustable measuring spoon

Marmite27 · 01/04/2021 23:23

Do the adjustable ones work for liquid? I can only imagine that if you have it on the lowest setting, the liquid will leak under the adjustable bit and fill it to the highest setting rendering it useless.

It’s not really what I’m after, we’ve had medicine spoons where the lesser marker is a circle inside the bowl of the spoon. That’s what I’m after.

I've got a pampered chef set with a sliding bit for different size spoons

That’s a set of measuring spoons though. I want one 15ml spoon with a 5ml measure inside the bowl of the spoon.

We have loads of measuring spoons, it’s the one spoon, two measures but that is critical.

A family member needs both measures to make up medication when out of the house. It’s not been an issue so far as they’ve not been taking it for a year yet, and due to lockdown we’ve obviously not been far from home.

I queried this up thread, when using the smaller measure doesn’t liquid leak under the sliding bit and mean it measures inaccurately with these? If not, they could work Smile

Wouldn’t a double ended medicine spoon or a syringe work?

Bimblybomeyelash · 01/04/2021 23:45

Ooops cross posted! I got distracted reading an article about testing measuring spoons !

Dalooah · 01/04/2021 23:45

I'm not sure exactly what you want exists- is there any reason it has to be a 5ml measure inside a 15ml spoon? Is it a medicine that needs 5ml x +10ml y to make it up? What about a little medicine cup? They usually come in 30ml size with ml graduations.

FlibbertyGiblets · 01/04/2021 23:47

Digital spoon scale?

link here.

Dalooah · 01/04/2021 23:52

What about a syringe?

FlibbertyGiblets · 01/04/2021 23:56

Shodan well done you, I think that is the nearest so far to what OP requires?

NoSquirrels · 01/04/2021 23:58

Can’t you just use the spoons you get with Calpol etc that have 2 ends?

NoSquirrels · 02/04/2021 00:01

If you search ‘dosing spoon’ that could help?

Defiantly41 · 02/04/2021 00:04

The measuring cup with gaviscon and night nurse are 20ml with 5ml increments marked.

I have a Joseph Joseph measuring spoon set where the 1 tbsp measure has 1 tsp marked inside

Why, though? Why do you need just the one spoon? And does it have to be those measurements?

Seems oddly specific when meducubevspoons usually come in 5ml, so just take 4x 5ml doses?
