What's your favourite quick watch on YouTube?

You know, the things that you have a quick look at when you really ought to be doing something more boring on the computer?

My current favourite is Never Too Small which is mostly studio apartments presented by the architect/designer who created them. I'm particularly impressed by the ones that have a built in cabinet thingy with all the utility of a Swiss army knife. Now it's a bed, now it's a desk, now it's a fully fitted kitchen, here's a hidden TV, everything folds out and then folds back when you've finished using it.

I sometimes watch Living Big in a Tiny House, but am a bit put off by all the loft bedrooms with about a metre of head height above the bed. Every time I see one of those I think I would rather move out than go through the faff of changing the sheets on that bed.

Also a few quilting channels, Jordan Fabrics and Missouri Star, but they tend to be a bit longer, 20 mins or so.

Anyone? A little 5 minute daydreams of your own life in an alternate universe? Or a plan for when the DC leave home (I'm keeping my fingers crossed that my DC will one day actually leave home).

Clips from Masterchef Canada, Masterchef Australia and Masterchef USA.

Snozwanger · 02/04/2021 13:52

You could get a very varied list of topics/channels from people on here OP as there is so much!

I watch a blogger mum of 3 as that's relevant to my lifestyle (stay at home mom) - Emily Norris. Sometimes I watch Shelbizzlee, an American who shares ideas on how to live an eco lifestyle. I watch a fashion vlogger Laura Blair as I think she has great style (even though her clothes don't remotely suit my lifestyle!). I don't buy a lot of clothes these days so watching someone else buy them and try them on is a sort of indulgence.

I'm aware my choices aren't exactly high brow but they're a bit of something for me to watch and chill out without the kids.

NotyouGuillermo · 02/04/2021 17:51

Bailey Sarian- Murder, Mystery and Makeup Monday. I stick it on when I’m making dinner, not for around the kids though.

midsomermurderess · 02/04/2021 18:00

Michael Spicer The Room Next Door. He plays an adviser with an earpiece giving suggestions to eg a politican. Spliced between him and real footage. Very droll.

vampirethriller · 02/04/2021 18:06

Dianxi Xiaoge (not sure I've spelt it right) Chinese cooking.

CyranosBestie · 02/04/2021 18:07

I like the Bright Side riddles videos.

igotdemons · 02/04/2021 18:08

‘True Crime Recaps’.

Zancah · 02/04/2021 18:09

My ultimate favourite clip on yt is Tom Holland on Lip Sync Battle.
It makes me happy. I try not to over watch it cos I don't want to spoil it for myself. Grin

evtheria · 02/04/2021 18:13

I watch Key & Peele skits.

(With DS) We watch a couple of Korean lifestyle ones: plan-D, nyangsoop, haegreendal... But sometimes the videos are more like 14-20’.

GooodMythicalMorning · 02/04/2021 18:16

Mine used to be Shane Dawson's conspiracy theory's before all the stuff with him hit the fan. I still like Ryland's vlogs and The Dailey's (Dustin and Nick Snyder)

CosyNights · 02/04/2021 18:18

Mr Ballen, the strange, dark & mysterious

OddsNSodsBitsNBobs · 02/04/2021 18:21

Ladbaby 😆

1bike1world

Man cycles round the world. Early on in his travels he found a feral kitten. Now he still cycles round the world but she's in a basket on the front of his bike. They do everything together.

Kittytheteapot · 02/04/2021 18:40

I used to watch this a lot
It's an amateurish recording and performance, but I loved it.

Many years ago when Mumsnet was tiny, someone recommended this to cheer me up.
It worked and I went back to it many times.

Right now, like a pp, I am rather obsessed with Tom Holland on Lip Sync Battle.

Pashazade · 02/04/2021 18:41

@Zancah, how I love that clip! Also James Corden (assuming you like him) with his pre Tony's Carpool Karaoke. Oh and Danny & Oti's Samba. These I will rewatch often and they make me very happy every time.

ImNotShpanishImEgyptshun · 02/04/2021 18:45

Yep, Key and Peele. And Tom Holland's lip sync battle.

Tom Scott's things you might not know.

Binging with Babish. So good, I bought the cookbook!

Brilliant! Lots of Fred Astaire in there, amazing talent. Thanks for that @HeronLanyon.
SynchroSwimmer · 02/04/2021 19:39

Drone footage, to see different angles on places I visited.
Currently loving the west coast of Fuerteventura drone footage for example

HeronLanyon · 02/04/2021 20:40

lysistrata it’s great isn’t it. Somewhere in comments there is a listing of all clips. Guy who did it is so talented. Some of the later male groups have really interesting histories - early black dance groups etc. As mega Judy Fred gene Rita Cyd etc fan it’s just great. Love that double sofa synch clip.

Love51 · 02/04/2021 20:42

Map men.

Dogmum81 · 02/04/2021 20:46

I’m absolutely gross but love spot squeezing videos and a few other bodily nasties ( I know your all welcome to hate me but I’m obsessed with the human body and all the grim stuff, I actually wanted to be a doctor but wasn’t clever enough and it’s a obsession that’s always stuck with me ) and also dog rescue clips (I always end up crying though so then I go back to spot squeezing)

Woodlandbelle · 02/04/2021 20:46

I love Hermione Chantal. She has a house she is working on. Nice plants/up cycles. Also random patio makeovers. Why? I don't know as we have a large mature garden but I enjoy them. Also cleaning youtube videos and tidying your kitchen cupboards (now I have perfect kitchen cupboards too) Grin
This is due to lockdown boredom I admit.

TeacupDrama · 02/04/2021 20:48

Living big in a tiny house, Simple happy zen, a small wardrobe, a Russian mother cooking normal family meals, a guy that does rqndom history things like who would be the roman emperor now and what mysteries of ancient world have never been solved. I dip in and out of some others but lots get a bit samey after a while
