Biting through dummies at 15 months... Please help me get through naps and bedtime!

So DS is 15 months old and apparently has teeth of steel as he's bitten through 3 brand new dummies since Monday. We've agreed it's not safe to leave him to bite through any more and have therefore decided to go cold turkey.

We're 15 minutes into attempting his afternoon nap and he's hysterical. Sad DH is trying to calm him with shush pat and he has a comforter in the cot with him but it's clearly going to be a very stressful few days and I feel like a horrible mother as he doesn't understand why we've taken them away. Sad

Is anyone else going through similar or ditched the dummies recently? Please tell me it's going to be ok.

We got rid of ours last Tuesday (she's older than your boy, 2.5). It was easier than we thought it would be but we've had some wobbly nights because she needs to learn to self settle at night without it but in the daytime you should find it's easier tomorrow.

I did this a few years ago. Two days later he’d forgotten they ever existed. I’m glad I did it then and not when he was older.

I sincerely hope it's the same here. Ok hurdle one has been overcome. He's finally asleep without a dummy for the first time since he was about a month old. Let see how long he lasts...
