If you know about bipolar disorder, could you share some info?

I am recruiting a position in my team. I saw a great candidate earlier in the week, who told HR that they have bipolar disorder and their current employer keeps a 'crisis pack' in case of emergency.

What is a 'crisis pack'? What is in it? What sort of emergency would lead to its use? Does a named/trained person have to be responsible for its administration?

Any information would be really helpful. I want to employ this person, but need to make sure their needs can are met before offering.

You’d need to ask them. I have bipolar disorder but I’ve never heard of this. My assumption would be that it’s information e.g. contact details of their crisis team or their doctor, next of kin, and maybe medication information.

My partner has bipolar disorder and we don’t have anything like that. It’s best to ask. They won’t mind at all, I bet.

You need to ask the individual what they would need.

I'm not sure what you are imagining would need administering, though! It won't be medication.

It might include info about what to do, or who to ring, if you are concerned about them.
