Random question about trucks

I have an bournlong commute along mainly windy rural A roads that are a combination of 50mph or NSL. I often drive it in the dark and noticed that trucks, where a car would put on the high beams, will flick them on for just a second, then off again.

Anyone know why this is?

About to go to work but putting it out there as I always wonder when I see it on my drive!

Unlit roads and oncoming traffic or warning you if you are joining?

The truck driver is telling the car driver to drop the full beam. You should never have full beam on when travelling towards another vehicle

Just walking into work now.
Sorry, wasnt clear. This is when I am following behind them. There is no oncoming traffic toward us.
