Hey all

So kids are finishing up tomorrow for two weeks of Easter break - what are you all planning with the kids to pass the time? I’m looking for any ideas as I’m kind of dreading it x

Not sure as first week looking like -8 windchill...

Hopefully some garden time and a couple of trips to the seaside. Maybe coats, hats and a fire!

Anyone else?

We’re going to do an egg hunt tomorrow and decorate hard boiled eggs, but I think as well as some walks and some time at the beach there will be an abundance of screen time tbh. There’s nothing open and the weather isn’t looking great - we might try and get up a hill or two if the weather isn’t too cold but I’m not holding out too much hope.

Walking. And then we’ll walk some more. The older 2 get on their playstations for the morning while I do chores, then we either have lunch or go for a spin and take lunch with us and walk! Lucky to have beach/moor/trail walks all within a 40 minute drive, and in our council area so it’s all allowed. I’ve got a couple of Swedish fire logs, so we’ll take them and marshmallows to make some beach walks slightly different.
Local pool opens next week too, so we’ll book a slot there.
Helps that the youngest is too wee to know any different and the older 2 are old enough to appreciate the return to normality. If in 2019 I’d said to them their Easter Holidays would consist of walks and one trip to the local pool I’d have had a very different reaction from them!

Wander down to the beach, maybe see my mum and dad in the garden. That's about it!

angelopal · 01/04/2021 08:47

We are already on holiday here. Had a playdate in the park and another one planned for tomorrow. Been out on bikes and had a movie afternoon. Also using up some craft kits we have not used yet. Next week will probably be the same with a trip to the beach.

Are people leaving their council areas? I’m feeling trapped now, and everywhere’s so busy locally (parks etc) as we’re all heading to the same spots Hmm

I cannot face walking round the big park any more Blush

Bairnsmum05 · 01/04/2021 09:32

Not leaving council area but am fed up of walking around every park in Glasgow already!

11 year old is booked into football camp every afternoon for 1st week so gets out the house and soends time with his pals. Other than that he'll prob play online with them or go out if weather is decent. Me and 1 year old will just have groundhog day over and over as usual.

It’s stay local from today isn’t it? We are in Perthshire so I think we may go further afield than usual to go for yet more walks.

Beyond that Disney+, Netflix again. Kids spending huge amounts of time on the PlayStation.

Well you could spend one minute telling them the good things about the SNP. If you can find enough to talk about for one minute.
