Help me save my crochet!! Pics included

I've been making this baby blanket for ages but I'm a bit rubbish at crocheting and I've messed it up. It's trapeze shaped, I must have dropped stitches as I've gone along!

I've tried to do multiple things to repair it by going down the sides but I fear I've made it worse

I'll include a pic of the whole blanket, then one to show how awfully misshapen it is, then one of my 'repairs.'

Any advice to save it would be much appreciated.

Yes, granny squares? I've seen some lovely tutorials on YouTube and really want to give it a go. I like the 'sunburst' and flower styles.
