Either she attended a legal vigil or she did not.

Either she went as part of work or she went in a private capacity as the palace have claimed.

She was in close proximity to other people without a mask, so she could be identified, during a time when we were supposed to work from home.

One thing for sure, she was never manhandled by the police

Enough already. It enrages me seeing any royal or former royal threads. Why do you fucking care? Its not like their actions are impacting your life. I'm really getting pissed off now. Most of us have real problems and our efforts and time would be better spent on those threads. Yes it may seem ironic that I'm posting on this thread. But its purely to stress that stop talking about people that have no relevance in your life.

I said that you sound like a high school bully because you don’t sound like a mature, grown up. You might’ve well have stuck your tongue out and stamped your feet because this thread is not going your way.

Totally agree, it may be time for MN to stop certain members from starting these threads. They lead to division, anger and hate. (On both sides).

@ismiseeire
I did not stay for the whole thing, but when I was there daytime, the place was packed and it was not easy to socially distance. It was hard to avoid bumping into people. So, I did not see any unruliness. The police were there, but keeping a distance.

What makes people suspicious is that after KM left, re-inforcements came in and people were told to leave. There was some pushback and manhandling, this annoyed people because at this point the speakers had come on. Not helped by the suspect being police, so people were already upset with aspect as it is.

CD had said she did not attend as it was illegal, but now suddenly says KM was working. People feel like KM was allowed to do her work in peace. Charity workers and campaigners feel on top of grieving, they were also raising awareness

To answer your other question, yes I always wear a mask, hard to distance in central London.

OP, why (since you were grieving), did you not just pay your respects like KM, then go home?

ismiseeire · 31/03/2021 20:51

KM was there early in the day. The police only got involved in the evening after dark. It wasn't like they were told to hold off until KM leaves which appears to be what you're suggesting?

ismiseeire · 31/03/2021 20:52

Charity workers and campaigners feel on top of grieving,

What does this mean? What charity workers?

Dazedandconfused28 · 31/03/2021 20:53

I find it really sad that following the hateful murder of a young woman & during all the discussions being had about misogyny & abuse of women that all so many people seem to be able to focus on is the actions of a woman quietly & simply paying respects.

It's a distraction no one needs.

ismiseeire · 31/03/2021 20:53

Campaigners for what?

Charity workers of what description?

Were you there to pay your respects or to use her death as a means to raise an issue?

sashagabadon · 31/03/2021 20:56

It’s irrelevant whether she was there working, not working whatever. It was nice of her to attend imo.

Mummy195 · 31/03/2021 20:56

There were lots of charity workers and campaigners there to also raise awareness of women abuse.

I thought daffodils were a lovely touch. They're blooming and she loves the outdoors, so probably picked them from her own garden. Simple and respectful as you say. It's not like she can drop into the local petrol station and pick up a bunch of daffs. Her way of paying her respects were simple and meaningful than women raising their own agendas at a vigil for a woman who had been murdered. If you want to protest, set up a separate protest. Do not do it at a vigil for a murdered woman. Not the time. Not the place.
sashagabadon · 31/03/2021 20:57

The protesters starting causing trouble after dark 6pm - 7pm onwards. Kate was long gone by then.

ismiseeire · 31/03/2021 21:00

I did not like the footage of women being manhandled by police. I have myself today received a letter from police regarding a complaint I made and you actually would not believe the lies in it. It was a whole page and a half of utter lies (not from police, from lying asshole witnesses).

Equally I think the timing to protest was so bloody ill-timed and ill-thought-out. It was ridiculous and disrespectful.

Ah I see. Not only are you an H&M mega fan, you also hate the DofC. Bloody hell.

Is this about the juncture, when Meghan lovers on most H&M threads start to suggest the thread needs to close and everyone should start talking about Andrew? Wink

Yes this poster has a lot of form for this.
SquirmOfEels · 31/03/2021 21:59

What makes people suspicious is that several hours after KM left, re-inforcements came in and people were told to leave.

Fixed that for you.

If people had kept just coming and going (in their hundreds) as they had done all day, and did for several days following, and were doing up to at least 6:30pm, then the police would have continued to have policed as they did all that time.

The streams of people arriving, well after the 6pm commemoration, the close-packed growing crowd, and the increasingly hostile (protest) chanting were utterly different to the remembrance that was the hallmark of the all the rest of the time.
