Can anyone help with period dates? Been a bit daft

I can’t remember when last period was. It seems quite a while ago but time in lockdown has strange properties!
I definitely had one in January that started on 13th/14th and have definitely had another one since then but can’t pin down the date.

The night before last it seemed so long since last period that I assumed it must be on its way very soon and had unprotected sex with DH.

I’m now having a bit of a panic in case I’ve got confused. According to my counting feb period should have started 11th feb and March one on 11th March

Which makes the unprotected sex happening around day 18. But I don’t remember the March one happening

Do I need to make a trip to chemist?

Do a risk assessment - what is the likelihood of your dates being wrong ? Say 4 out of 5. Likelihood of pregnancy? Say 1 out of 5. So total risk = 5/10

Impact of being pregnant at this point? 5/5. Ie 100%.

So while probability is low, consequences are high = go to the chemist.

It’s a no brainier when you put it like that!

Do you have regular cycles? How long are they usually?

Have you had your Covid vaccine? They’ve been affecting periods in some women.

But as a PP said, we’d all just be guessing, based off some hazy memories... I’d go to the chemist this morning. Best of luck.

Justdowhatyouweretold · 31/03/2021 08:15

Have you had your covid vaccine? That often throws peoples cycles out.

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 31/03/2021 08:17

Maybe pick up some condoms whilst at the chemist.

Iveforgotten · 31/03/2021 08:22

Yes had vaccine but that would have been before the feb one which definitely happened.
Usually regular but I’ve fallen out of the habit of recording (will get back into that ASAP)
We have plenty of condoms. Just not to hand 🤦‍♀️

Map ordered for collection. It’s really annoying me though. Normally I can relate it back to something that happened while I was on but nothing’s happened.
Moon cup has been away in the cupboard for at least 2 weeks but I can’t remember any further back than that.

Also-I haven’t had to take it since university over 20 years ago (which gives you an idea of how old I am and why an accidental pregnancy would not be a great idea!) and not sure what to expect. Does it trigger a period or what?

OP posts:
Iveforgotten · 31/03/2021 11:14

Oh shit I’ve taken it but reading up it seems it won’t work if taken after ovulation which, according to my dodgy reckonings it is.
Going to be a shit couple of weeks wondering.

Don't understand why you would have unprotected sex whilst still fertile if you don't want to get pregnant?

Iveforgotten · 31/03/2021 11:26

@LudoBear

Don't understand why you would have unprotected sex whilst still fertile if you don't want to get pregnant?
Because I’m an idiot. Because having older kids who go to bed late make it virtually impossible to have sex very often and we didn’t want to disturb them by going to fetch condoms Because last period felt so long ago that I was expecting it to begin any day. But mainly the first

Yeval · 31/03/2021 11:33

Does that mean you've only had two periods so far this year, and you're due around the middle of the month? If so, it sounds like you've missed your March period. So do a pregnancy test before you get the morning after pill!

Yeval · 31/03/2021 11:34

And ignore the posters scolding you 🙄

Iveforgotten · 31/03/2021 11:44

I know I sound awful but I think there was a third one since jan-I just can’t remember when.
I don’t think there’s a chance of already being pregnant unless there’d been a condom failure (ironic) and we’ve hardly had sex since jan

@Yeval

And ignore the posters scolding you 🙄
It’s not scolding, it’s an entirely sensible observation. Every day there are a handful of threads where posters who already have children are panicking they could be pregnant - after having unprotected sex!

It honestly baffles me that some people still don’t seem to understand that unprotected sex (no matter what day it is if your cycle, or how many times you did it) can result in a pregnancy.

Then they come on here asking us to tell them if they’re pregnant or not. Well we’re not psychics, go and buy a test.

ThatOtherPoster · 31/03/2021 12:07

Get a pregnancy test when you collect your MAP. Definitely. Definitely definitely.

ThatOtherPoster · 31/03/2021 12:08

And

we didn’t want to disturb them by going to fetch condoms

Where do you keep your conforms, in the loft?

Iveforgotten · 31/03/2021 12:27

Condoms upstairs, we were downstairs.
Oh I totally deserve the scolding. I just got confused in tiredness and trying to cheer dh up after such a dry spell.
We had sex on Valentine’s Day so I wasn’t on then but not sure if feb period came before or after that.
I’ve taken the MAP already

OP posts:
Iveforgotten · 31/03/2021 13:18

I’m still hoping it will arrive any day now. Certainly feeling irritable enough.
But dates don’t match up at all with the January date.
Maybe it is the vaccine?

OP posts:
ThatOtherPoster · 31/03/2021 13:47

I track mine via the FitBit app. Otherwise I genuinely don't know why my DH suddenly seems like the world's most annoying man a few days every month...

ThatOtherPoster · 31/03/2021 13:48

Could you be approaching menopause? That might make things go a bit weird.

But honestly, I think I'd just do a test rather than wonder.

Iveforgotten · 01/04/2021 16:35

Thrilled and relieved to report that period arrived today and has been marked on my calendar!
Waste of £33!

OP posts:
aibutohavethisusername · 01/04/2021 16:57

Great news!

SlowTango · 01/04/2021 17:00

Ah but that £33 brought on your period, such is Sod’s Law!

ITSADOGSLIFE21 · 01/04/2021 17:30

Oh bless you. Glad it arrived.

I had a 54 day cycle cos of the vaccine. So was thinking it could be because of that.
