Dust!

Moved to a new place in December. Suddenly find myself overrun with dust! It’s really frustrating. I live alone with one cat. I clean most days, with a full ‘deep clean’ at the weekend. There seems to constantly be a layer of grey dust on everything (I call it stour) - bathroom especially difficult. Getting fed up of the place not looking clean even though I always bloody clean! Angry

Am I missing a trick here? Is there a secret method to busting dust that I haven’t learned in nearly 30 years on this earth? I use dusters, polish, micro fibre cloths, and wipes in the bathroom. Feels like I’m just shifting the stour around rather than cleaning it!

Yes it wasn’t very good I paid the £5 suggested donation but my dc didn’t like it. Was very arty.

Are you using a wet cloth to clean? Do you live near building works?

Thelnebriati · 30/03/2021 22:23

I'd want to know what kind of dust that is. Can you get it tested?

swiftt · 30/03/2021 22:24

@Wurrg no, usually a dry duster or micro fibre cloth. Resorted to using toilet roll for the bathroom dust though so I can just flush it, otherwise the dust seems to get damp and clump together. No building works.

Are you by a main road? I used to get black dust in everything from the exhaust fumes

Wet cloth will pick it up instead of just moving around.
