Dh and I are going Greek! We are doing butterflied leg of lamb with flatbreads, greek salad and tzatziki dip.

Ordered this:

We always have lamb of some sort.
This year it’s Moroccan pilaf www.tilda.com/eat-well/recipes/moroccan-vegetable-pilaf/ with lamb meatballs, followed by lemon trifle.
Last year we fired up the bbq and had minty lamb burgers and s’mores.

I've left it a bit late and am running out of options. Can't get a decent looking lamb leg for love nor money 🙈

Oblomov21 · 30/03/2021 20:25

I'm looking for a leg of lamb aswell Rainbow. Can't find nothing!

MissyB1 · 30/03/2021 20:26

@rainbowninja do you have a butchers nearby? I won’t be getting my lamb until Thursday from our butcher.

InTheNightWeWillWish · 30/03/2021 20:28

We were considering lamb kleftiko, done with lamb shanks instead of a leg as it’s just two of us. I think we’re now going for BBQ brisket instead though.

JackieTheFart · 30/03/2021 20:40

We’re having lamb shanks although I haven’t decided how I’m going to cook them.

I might do kleftiko actually, with some Cyprus potatoes I can get at my local market. Although Greek Easter isn’t till May so maybe I should save till then (we normally do both as I’m half Greek).

HPmagic · 30/03/2021 20:43

My DH is vegetarian but I would cook meat for me and DC during these occasions. Might go to M&S for inspiration.

We’re having an Indian takeaway

louisejxxx · 30/03/2021 21:13

BBQ in my parents garden for us - first one of the season 🙂

BluntlySpoken · 30/03/2021 21:15

I just came on for inspiration.
It's juts me dh Dsd (who is mega fussy) dd3 and ds 1.
3 year old eats anything.
1 Yr old eats a bird size portion!
Teen ds at his dad's
I hate cooking a big meal when teen not here as the 3 others tend to waste most of it.

I'm considering a take away, and we've ordered cupcake delivery for a treat and making the cheesecakes in eggs.. Yes lots of cals and lots of sugar but hey ho it's not all the time.

Me too. Can't bloody wait. I'm not cooking or cleaning the kitchen anymore, I'm bored of doing that.

rainbowninja · 30/03/2021 21:43

I wanted to do kleftico! We have a butchers nearby but I don't rate it. I don't eat a lot of meat so when I do I'd like to stick to organic really. Just wasn't organised enough for this weekend 😬

Woodlandbelle · 30/03/2021 21:46

Deffo BBQ or a nice salad crusty break and picnic type food if you don't want a roast.

Endofmytether2 · 30/03/2021 21:48

Bbq here if the weather holds. Rib of beef if not.

Woodlandbelle · 30/03/2021 21:54

Bread

LoveFall · 30/03/2021 21:58

I haven't decided yet but where I grew up, glazed ham was the tradition. With raisin sauce, scalloped potatoes, and vegetables like squash. I think it may be an American tradition although I am in Canada.
