What time should a 13 year old come in, if going out after school?

Average 13 yo maturity etc

It depends if you know where he is and what he might be getting up too...

I agree with Sycamore, it depends what they're up to...

My DD is 8pm latest, or before dark. But my friend lives in a village & her DS is 10pm. Possibly depends on the child & where you live? Mine needs her sleep so bed by 9pm.

when i was 13, iirc it was around 7pm on a school night and 9pm, sometimes 10pm if being walked home by a male friend on weekends/holidays. this was just for being at the park/walking around town etc, if i was at the cinema etc i'd be allowed out until whenever the movie ended but i had to be picked up if it was later than 9pm as my parents didn't want me to be on the bus too late.

Agree - more info needed! If at a nice friend's house, just before bed. If on the park, bmuch earlier (before the older kids' drinking starts!)

In time for dinner.

It’s my dd, she is relatively sensible, they are out in our village, I can track on find my iphone. There is two of them together. I know her mum and we are in contact through what’s app. She is my pfb 😊!

I have said 7pm because I want her in before it’s dark and I want to eat tea together. But she is like that’s soooo early! I’ve stuck to it for now but wondered if it was a bit early? We live in a quiet area, not that really means anything.

If straight from school, say 4pm to 7pm it's 3 hours. That's a long time to just be hanging around. What time's dinner?

crimsonlake · 30/03/2021 17:21

Personally after school is straight home time, homework done etc. The only going out of an evening would be to football or running clubs.
