Breast lumps

Can anyone offer me some advice or reassurance ? I have a breast lump, my skin is puckered around it and it hurts. I managed to get into see the gp last Thursday, she was very blunt and said it looks odd. So she's referring me to breast clinic as urgent. Maybe 2 weeks or so to wait and I'm driving myself silly. I'm scared, I've read lots of stuff, but I don't suppose I can do anything than wait for my appointment. I'm thinking of maybe paying to have an initial private appointment, but I'm unsure if that's a done thing. Any help, words of advice, reassurance would be lovely.

2 weeks referral is standard for any breast lump. I’ve had it done 4 times.

Google is not your friend. I know it’s hard but try to be fatalistic for a bit- you’re getting it looked at as quickly as possible and it’s all out of your hands now.

Definitely agree with above - no Googling! I had a couple of painful lumps 10 years ago and drove myself crazy. At the time I was living with the Bank of Mum and Dad and managed to get a private appointment and found out they were fibroadenomas, which was reassuring. All the best to you OP.
