Gift for a 5 year old?

Hi,

My daughter has been invited to a classmate's birthday party. I don't know anything about the boy and have no way of contacting his parents to get an idea of what he is into (problem with phone). What sort of things would you buy? Are there any presents for this age range you found were generally well received?

Thanks!

Lego is usually a safe bet

At 5 it would have been something hot wheels for my little boy or lego, dinosaurs, marvel avengers.

Books?

Play dough?

Lego or a couple of books.

That was quick! Thank you everyone. It sounds like Lego or books may be the way to go. I will look into it.

Yep Lego is pretty my standby for parties if we don't know the child! Toy car sets, jigsaws and anything dinosaur related tended to go down well with ds at that age!

Lego or a book voucher with box of Maltesers always seemed popular when mine were little.

Kinetic sand is my go-to

my nearly 5 year old boy likes hotwheels and lego.
