Having trouble finding school uniform in bigger sizes

ConeHat · 28/03/2021 20:58

Is it just me? I need just bog standard supermarket or high street boys trousers and they have been very hard to find.

I need boys plus fit 10-11 trousers and I normally get them from.TU at sainsburys. They have been out of stock for months now

Is this a covid / production issue or is it because the kids have all needed uniform at the same time? The later seems unlikely because as I say, I have been looking for months with little joy. In store you can get any plus fit or anything above age 10

I've has similar problems for my son - I bought some from Very in the end

DelurkingAJ · 28/03/2021 21:07

Same for reception DS2 (I needed aged 5-6). Got them with my Ocado order from M&S in the end (local Sainsbury’s, Tesco and ASDA online were OOS).

ConeHat · 28/03/2021 21:16

I will have a look at very. I didnt know they did uniform. I wonder if it's going to get back to normal?

Everything in my nearest Asda has been very sparce for kids clothing of all sorts including underwear since the pandemic started last year. When I went there yesterday they have even removed a section of racking now.

I ended up buying second hand from the Facebook selling pages as was struggling, got 3 pairs of Marks and Spencer 10/11 plus size shorts for £5!

Neighneigh · 28/03/2021 21:25

The John Lewis website is quite good and there's a range of prices on there. We bought a few pairs but they didn't fit so I sent them back and they even refunded the delivery cost, and v quickly. I ordered the new pairs, collected from our local co-op a day later!

AuditAngel · 28/03/2021 21:26

H&M also do plus fit, but don’t think they do uniform. I used to order DS’s trousers from M&S

catsarebetterthandogs9 · 28/03/2021 21:30

M&S is the place to go.
I've always found Asda and TU rubbish for sizes (and even when I can't get them, the regular ones are too tight on the waist for my slim 10 year old Hmm).

Sprig1 · 28/03/2021 21:31

Keep checking back. I had the same issue with shorts in size 11 or 12. I managed to order some from Sainsbury's online on Thursday.

perhapstomorrow · 28/03/2021 21:35

It's been a nightmare. I ended up ordering from John Lewis. The sizing was very strange as the age 12 waist was small than the size 11 on the exact same style of trouser. My poor ds has been wearing too tight trousers since they went back as I cannot find alternatives.

Squashiesaremyfav · 28/03/2021 21:52

Next is good, my 10 year old son has put on a bit of eight. Next have pull up school trousers. Plus other extended waist kinds

bubblebubblebubbletrouble · 28/03/2021 21:56

M&S but agree so much out of stock all over the place.

BarbarasStripedHands · 28/03/2021 22:01

Trutex direct seem to have all the sizes in stock:

Have a look at NEXT

DancesWithDaffodils · 28/03/2021 22:10

Black available at M&S online.

Mrsmophead · 28/03/2021 22:28

I couldn't find any pinafores in that age in the colour for DD who has sprouted. Ended up using the Summer dress and ordering another as it is all I could find online.

mum2jakie · 28/03/2021 22:31

I struggled earlier this year. Managed to get some from M&S in the end
