...talking about the current conversations about everyday sexism and street harassment etc. I was walking through the entrance to my apartment block and they had obviously just come back from a cycle and were sat chatting. For some reason my ears pricked up when I heard the word "girls". First man was saying that the problem now is that "girls" have started making accusations like "you looked at me funny" or saying that "you made me feel uncomfortable" which just can't be proven. The other one then chimed in with "another problem is that girls are making accusations simply because they don't like the man, or perhaps because they've actually been rejected by him in the past."
I was furious, seething. I was with my little boy and didn't feel confident saying anything though. Now I'm kicking myself. I just gave them a dirty look. Which they didn't even seem to notice, probably because I'm an invisible 40 yo woman with a buggy rather than a "girl"...
Aaaaahhh!! Just a rant really, as there's no-one else to rant to!!
