I just overheard two men...

...talking about the current conversations about everyday sexism and street harassment etc. I was walking through the entrance to my apartment block and they had obviously just come back from a cycle and were sat chatting. For some reason my ears pricked up when I heard the word "girls". First man was saying that the problem now is that "girls" have started making accusations like "you looked at me funny" or saying that "you made me feel uncomfortable" which just can't be proven. The other one then chimed in with "another problem is that girls are making accusations simply because they don't like the man, or perhaps because they've actually been rejected by him in the past."

I was furious, seething. I was with my little boy and didn't feel confident saying anything though. Now I'm kicking myself. I just gave them a dirty look. Which they didn't even seem to notice, probably because I'm an invisible 40 yo woman with a buggy rather than a "girl"...

Aaaaahhh!! Just a rant really, as there's no-one else to rant to!!

Urgh, not surprising sadly. Just ask a trusted man in your life what men say when women aren’t around Sad.

theres an entire world of misogynists out there who actually hate women and despise the feminist movement. Its getting worse rather than better. Facebook groups dedicated to it such as the misogynists bible which doesnt even go against their rules.
It was wise of you not to confront two misogynist men. Walk on. You wouldnt have got anywhere

Ugh you are so right, they probably would have just said I was a "hysterical" woman. 🙄
