Turning the IKEA kura bed into bunk beds

Has anyone done this? How did you do it? Is there an easy way to add slats to the bottom part?

IKEA sell slatted bed bases. There is one in a frame that can drop straight into the bottom of the bed so you have the 'new' bed in the base. If you wanted it raised up off the floor you'd have to build an extra frame for it. Google Kura bunk bed hacks - there are loads of different ways, but definitely possible.

This is a good guide. I was considering it for my daughter's bed, but we've decided to just get an air bed as it would only be occasional use.
