Sixth Form Business Suit fog size 4 daughter

Hi there
My daughter starts sixth form in September and I know that sounds like a long way away! However she is measuring a women’s size 4 and I’m struggling to find anywhere that stocks short skirts and jackets. M&S were my go to but they start at size 6. Anyone else struggle with this? Or find a brand that has size 4? Thanks in advance 😊

I've never heard of a 6th form that required a suit.

Please dont say it's a skirt suit!

Try ASOS

My son starts sixth form in September and it's business dress with jacket for both sexes...

User27aw · 28/03/2021 13:28

The 6th form my ds is planning to go also have to wear suits.

kowari · 28/03/2021 13:31

Can you buy from the school uniform range?

ChristinaYang10 · 28/03/2021 13:33

I wear clothes in sizes 4-6 and ASOS has a good range of smaller sizes.
Or, if you just need something like plain white blouses, maybe the teenage range in other shops?

Seeline · 28/03/2021 13:34

Most of the school sixth forms round here require business wear.

My DD got some in Next - not sure how small they go?

FAQs · 28/03/2021 13:36

My daughters school wear a suit, her and her friends (daughter is a 6) buy from ASOS, PLT, BOO HOO, M&S is probably a bit old fashioned for that age.

dancemom · 28/03/2021 13:37

ASOS do trousers skirts and blazers in size 4

AuntieStella · 28/03/2021 13:37

Try H&M or Uniqlo

BellaVida · 28/03/2021 13:38

H & M do suits and separates in a size 4.

sashh · 28/03/2021 13:46

You might be better finding a dress maker.

H and M

Diptyque · 28/03/2021 13:51

I know of two schools where they wear suits.

I hate this trend, most will be going on to uni and will spend the nest 3 years in jeans and hoodies, it's such a waste. Sorry not helpful but I'm in a bit of a rant mood today.

I agree. The sixth form at DS's school luckily is just smart casual but does not allow blue jeans (other colours are fine) or hoodies. I don't understand the difference between blue and green jeans, and a hooded sweatshirt and one without a hood Hmm.
Dustyhedge · 28/03/2021 15:13

I think it is utterly ridiculous. It’s a lot of expense for a few years when chances are they’ll be looking like complete scruffs at uni. I don’t know when the last time I wore a suit was at work- probably 2008.

Would she be able to get away with a blazer and separates? A jersey blazer would probably be ok if a little oversized.

PenOrPencil · 28/03/2021 15:30

Next are good for small sizes

Yes!!

Unless they go from sixth form to some sort of office job (and I’m not sure most office jobs require women to wear a suit) then it’s such a waste of money and resources.

CuthbertDibbleandGrubb · 28/03/2021 15:58

@sashh I agree too about this trend being unnecessary. Just have certain things not acceptable, for example boys showing their dirty (or if my a miracle clean) underwear.

teaandcustardcreamsx · 28/03/2021 16:00

I managed to get some rather nice size 4 business style wear in Primark

SeasonFinale · 28/03/2021 16:02

Yes H&M is where a lot of our 6th formers go and they have said it has been helpful to have suits for interviews for internships, for work experience etc going forward. Ours are allowed to wear jackets with dresses as well as skirts or trouser suits.

user1497787065 · 28/03/2021 17:27

My daughter wore business suits for sixth form. I have to say I think it's good as although she wore a kilt for school up until that point for a lot of teens this is the first time they will
Have worn any kind of
Formal dress.

Zara are pretty good for business wear in an x-small may work.
