Headlines today, Moderna jab on the way for the over 40s.
Forgive me but I know a huge amount of people under 50 who have received their AstraZenica jabs already. And before you all scream,”some of them may have underlying health issues.”They were totally shocked at being called by their GP surgery but took the offer.
It appears the NHS and GPs don’t actually talk to each other.
I’m group 9 and was able to book on the NHS website when it said only 55 and above.I was told they are slow at updating it and it was true.A week after booking it I received my NHS letter invitation and then my surgery sent an invitation by txt, which was immediately followed by another saying I couldn’t book because supplies were low.
Yet many GP websites say if you don’t want to go to a big vaccination centre to wait for them to contact you. Good job I didn’t wait for mine.
It seems GPs are just going ahead with who they have on their books and not by NHS groups.Okay i understand if they’re a bit behind the official groups because some people don’t want to go anywhere else only their Drs but to be jumping ahead seems totally unfair on others. My cousins 51 and 48 had theirs in the same week because the 48 yr old was invited by his GP.
Also I thought there were going to be fewer slots available during March and April because of EU delays, could it be that GPs forging ahead with over and under 40s could be the cause of lack of 2nd doses of the Astra Zenica.
