Following on from my other thread, I'm also marvelling at stuff my gran did. It's not good but I'm in awe of the fact she smoked like a chimney from 14 to 97 and suffered no ill effects for it, dying quietly in her sleep at the end. Maybe the fact that she used to be a dancer helped? She was also a dab-hand at stuff & very practical & could mend anything/do household diy herself. Dancing took her around Europe and she learnt to speak fluent French which she would tell us off in when we were naughty. Other than that, her only hobby was knitting (jumpers stunk of fags) & watching The Sweeney. She lived on her own for decades, without any pets. Her dh died in the 60s.
