Does anyone take gummy vitamins?

I want to take a decent multi vitamin but the ones I’ve got are huge and taste horrible. Has anyone tried gummy vitamins and do they do the same job as the tablets?

I have the Tesco kids ones and they taste like sweets!
I don't know how they compare though. I think seven seas does an adult version, but I've not tried them yet.

I have the Bassetts gummy adult ones and they're so nice, I think they're raspberry and cranberry!

My understanding is they aren’t as good as tablets/capsules (I think I got this from the ‘it starts with an egg’ book) but surely they have to be better than skipping days because you didn’t feel like taking a tablet that day.

I had the Alive women's health ones. The did not smell good but tasted ok. They are often on offer at Holland and Barrett.

My teenagers like them - only way I can get them to take vitamins!

The fruity chewables by centrum are lovely. They're not gummy sweets but they taste gorgeous.

NonsensicalHair · 27/03/2021 12:20

For a while I was eating the vitamin D gummies like they were wine gums...had to force myself to stop as I was probably mostly made of vitamin D for a while Confused They were delicious!

I have the gummy pregnacare ones as last time I was pregnant I couldn't take tablets as they made me sick. Hoping the gummy ones will be a good alternative. I tried one and they don't taste like sweets but they're fine, a bit chalky maybe.

I take these! Buy one get one 1/2 price offer at the moment. I have really noticed a difference since taking them.

It's a lesson in self control not to eat the whole box!

Juliesipadwillcallyouback · 27/03/2021 15:17

No, they give me the shits!

I take Tesco A-Z Multivitamin and minerals (in the red pot) and they aren't that big and taste fine.

Marmite27 · 27/03/2021 15:17

I could only get a gigantic tip of chewy ones from home bargains in the first lockdown, and I’ve still got about a months worth.

They seem ok, I’ve not noticed any difference. Though I do prefer a woman specific one and these are ‘adult’ so will ge changing back when they’re done.

PinkBuffalo · 27/03/2021 15:18

Not gummy but I take the Tesco’s kids ones that you crunch and taste fruity

ineedaholidayandwine · 27/03/2021 15:19

Another one for Bassets, they are like sweets!

ElderMillennial · 27/03/2021 15:20

Yes I have. You can always compare ingredients with the "normal" kind. There are mixed reviews on how effective vitamins are anyway.

I've had some that come in a tub from Boots (maybe centrum?) and also the Bassets one that come in a box and they are sometimes cheap in places like Home Bargains.

Have you tried Berocca? Not chewy obviously but an alternative to regular vitamins and I have sometimes enjoyed having them as part of my routine first thing in a morning.

TwoZeroTwoZero · 27/03/2021 15:21

We get the cheaper ones from home bargains for us and for our dc. They taste fine but I had to hide them from the dc and hand them out each morning because they wanted to eat them like sweets.

MargosKaftan · 27/03/2021 15:25

Yes I do, the bassets ones. They are ok, started having them about 2 years ago, my skin has slightly improved, but I do eat a lot of fruit and veg most days anyway.

Cowbells · 27/03/2021 15:25

I used to nick DC's gummy bear vitamins sometimes, they were so delicious. Meant for children so not adult intake but better than nothing when you feel run down.

Maryann1975 · 27/03/2021 15:27

The bassets ones are delicious, cranberry and raspberry flavour. I love them and the dc like the ones for their age groups too. I’ve tried The children ones and the flavours of those are really lovely Too.
