Pre baby goals

We’ve decided to start trying next year.
That gives us a year to sell our flat and move somewhere we can afford more space
For me to get in better mental and physical shape so I’m a bit healthier for pregnancy
And for DH to financially get in a slightly stronger position to support us (I am Self employed and won’t be able to support us during mat leave) - though we haven’t quite figured out how he can do that yet!

What plans or goals did you have before you started trying?
Or am I overthinking things (I have quite severe anxiety and I’m prone to do so!) and will it all just fall into place if I get pregnant now?

Im not like you in that we decided to start ttc and started the next month...and it took 2 years

In all honestly try not to overthink it. How would you feel if you get in the "perfect position" and struggle?

Just have some fun thats all i can suggest

I'm sorry, I know what I'm about to say isn't particularly hopeful given COVID, but hopefully things will be more normal soon.

In addition to any 'big' goals, make the most of everyday things - if you can - which will be challenging for the first few years while you have a young family. Go out for dinner, go on holiday, go to the pub. Do any home DIY projects, organise your photos. Go to the cinema. Just think of all the things you enjoy doing together and do them as much as you can!

But also, don't try and over plan specific details.

@FoxtrotSkarloey yes there’s not much we can do right now! But I do think we are putting all our focus in sorting finances etc so remembering to go do fun stuff is important too!
