Finding it hard to get past Mabel and Olive

Watching France v Scotland with the lovely Andrew Cotter commentating but am finding it very hard to get past Mabel and Olive! They have cheered me up immensely during lockdown.

Me too - but I can just hear him saying “Mabel, tasting absolutely nothing”! It’s not a bad thing, it’s made me smile this evening.

I loved his Mabel and Olive videos. He's my favourite commentator. Has a good turn of phrase and is very good at staying neutral.

So sad that he only did a few, they were the best!

We're running about 25 minutes behind what with one thing and another and the joy of Pause Button... Mabel and Olive were the absolute best thing to come out of Lockdown One.

Ha I just casually dropped this into conversation and now DH thinks I'm an expert on rugby commentary. Loved those videos, feels a fond early covid memory

Yes! I've just said this to DH, really lovely to hear him doing his 'proper job' again, but Olive & Mabel is just beautiful, so very innocent and lovely among all the bleakness!

And even DP who is utterly obsessed with rugby to the exclusion of anything that isn't directly related, noticed that there was a voice that was familiar about something not to do with rugby but couldn't work out precisely what.

Yes definitely the best thing out of lockdown. He could merrily have done them continuously since and made people very happy!

My DH played golf with Andrew Cotter. Says he was absolutely lovely. I love Olive and Mabel. I got the book for Christmas. I too have a Labrador and can relate.

I love Andrew Cotter, he's so funny.

Once, when France were making a substitution, he said 'France are bringing on what appears to be the entire population of Samoa'.

He described someone last night as being 'of a sizeable acreage'.

The O and M videos were genius.
