Makes my teeth itch - it's a no from me!

HeyMicky · 26/03/2021 20:28

Envy Wait for it to cool down. Slurping is vile

Stickytreacle · 26/03/2021 20:45

No, my dh will do it occasionally, but gets told off, it's bad manners and drives me mad.

Bearnecessity · 26/03/2021 20:45

Never ever acceptable to slurp anything unless you are ninety.

Vanannabananna · 26/03/2021 20:46

DH does this. I told him to pack it in or go in another room. No other noise ever made me that murderous.

EnjoyingTheSilence · 26/03/2021 20:46

Makes me want to bury dh alive. I have to put my earbuds in when we’re working in the office together

ZackaryQuack · 26/03/2021 20:49

I find it just as irritating as the girl in my office that says 'ahhh' after every mouthful! Makes me glad I'm still working from home...
That and slurping need to get in the bin!

lottiegarbanzo · 26/03/2021 20:51

No.

NameChangedForThisFeb21 · 26/03/2021 20:52

It’s really bad manners. Can’t stand it when I hear slurping from a capable adult.

CuthbertDibbleandGrubb · 26/03/2021 20:52

If you are alone, yes. Not otherwise.

mommybear1 · 26/03/2021 20:54

Hate it, hate it, hate it - FIL drinks his tea like this EVERY SINGLE TIME Envynot envy

partyatthepalace · 26/03/2021 20:59

Titsywoo · 26/03/2021 21:01

DH does this and it makes me want to claw his eyes out. So no it is not acceptable.

Slurping a hot drink is revolting. Just let it cool down for a minute!

LaurieSchafferIsAllBitterNow · 26/03/2021 21:05

I do it to vex dh, and also add in the lipsmacking and long "ahhhhhh" afterwards. If he says anything I protest that I am just drinking my tea...I probably only drink one cup in four, am notorious for leaving cups of tea to go cold.

He snores....it's my petty revenge :o :o

Sofuckingsad · 26/03/2021 21:06

NOOOOOOOOOO. Not acceptable.

Sexnotgender · 26/03/2021 21:08

Urgh no! Is he 5?

SnarkyBag · 26/03/2021 21:10

Woman in my office slurps soup. Every. Single. Spoonful.
Makes me want to smash her face in

LindaEllen · 26/03/2021 21:15

Nope. There's absolutely no need for it.

SheldonesqueIsUnwell · 26/03/2021 21:16

Slurping, aaaahs and ‘chewing’ drinks makes me borderline murderous.

Any unnecessary noise does when it comes to eating and drinking (and more things besides)

I have a job where I work alone. Thank god.

I wish I wasn’t like this but I’ve been like this since I was little.

TildaKauskumholm · 26/03/2021 21:23

No it's disgusting.

amusedbush · 26/03/2021 22:58

I shared an office with two guys and one of them was a Coffee Slurper. He’d pour his coffee from the cafetière from such a height that it sounded like he was pissing in a bucket, then slurp every sip of his drink.

One day the other guy had had enough and barked, ‘enjoying that coffee, are you??’ at him. It did not stop him, though he did at least start making jokes about the trickling sound as he poured it 🙈
