What’s for dinner?

Just had the most weird concoction of food for dinner.
I had some sesame chicken strips with hoi sin sauce, a prawn cocktail with slice of seeded bread and some pickled beetroot. I couldn’t decide so mixed it up...
what did you all have for dinner or having for dinner?

Friday, the day I don't usually cook, but tonight I made the effort and it's twice-baked potatoes with chorizo, cheese and eggs mixed in, served with Tesco's baked beans. Lush.

Ohdoleavemealone · 26/03/2021 17:29

Lasagne is in the oven right now.

caperplips · 26/03/2021 17:31

Fish and chips being collected by DH right now! Cannot wait as I had to work through lunch! Starving

We're having honey bbq chicken (no sauce for dd2), wedges, and salad. Chicken and wedges are in the oven now, I could really do with sorting the salad but cba to shift!

ApplesPearsAndCrumble · 26/03/2021 17:32

currently chinese beef with noodles and broccoli. My eldest DS (12) has decided he wants to be Chinese (fair enough, but I had to restrain him from putting this on the census) but he has food allergies which means we cannot risk a chinese takeaway with him. So i have a packet sauce from Aldi and beef and instant noodles.

MissyB1 · 26/03/2021 17:32

@Ohdoleavemealone snap! Made a Lasagne earlier, and now there’s a rice pudding in the oven.

MM321 · 26/03/2021 17:35

Pasta night in our house. Family favourite is the Zizzis Casareccia Pollo Picante so that’s on the menu tonight! 😊

laughoutquiet · 26/03/2021 17:37

Linguine with cod in spicy tomato sauce. I actually made the sauce yesterday so I'm kicking back with a chilled Cote de Provence.

Lovely 😊

Ihatesandwiches · 26/03/2021 17:37

English cooked breakfast here. Will start cooking when DP says he is leaving work!

Chicken in pitta

Chicken breast (spiced in pan) in wholemeal pittas with diced pepper, onion and cucumber and cheese (melted over the chicken)

Chicchicchicchiclana · 26/03/2021 17:39

Sausage, mash, onion gravy, broccoli, green beans, spinach and carrots (we've got quite a few odd bits of veg to use up!).

spagbog5 · 26/03/2021 17:39

Doing a zoom dinner with dd2 in her student flat from cote@ home !
We are all looking forward to it at 7 pm

QueenPaw · 26/03/2021 17:41

Weird but nice concoction here! Rice stir fried with egg, mushrooms, spinach, tomatoes, onion and soy sauce
Was going to add chicken sausages but saving them for tomorrow

Anne1958 · 26/03/2021 17:41

A quick tea tonight as we’re busy getting ready for a family lunch at home tomorrow so it was a grilled chicken breast sandwich with cheese and salad alongside homemade chips.

Midlifephoenix · 26/03/2021 17:41

It's Friday (and Lent) so fish and chips. Not from the chippy but from Tesco. But not yet still too early - my daughter is getting tutored online so will get it in the oven about 6.30.

mamaduckbone · 26/03/2021 17:42

Pizza night here - usually it's home made but last day of term and we're all knackered so we've ordered takeaway, which Dh is going to collect in a bit.

vampirethriller · 26/03/2021 17:42

Pumpkin curry, rice and garlic toast.

brokengate · 26/03/2021 17:46

@Inextremis oooohhhhh this sounds good. So bake the potatoes, mix the cheese chorizo and what kind of egg? Egg mayo? Then back in? So like stuffed skins basically?

PineappleSun · 26/03/2021 17:50

Went nuts in M&S food, we have dimsum, butter chicken, some fancy lemonade and mini Colins, thrilled to have made it to Friday!

Hm2020 · 26/03/2021 17:51

I had McDonald’s bacon double cheese burger, fries and frozen strawberry lemonade. For desert I had a Cadbury’s cream egg McFlurry and an apple pie had the Covid jab Wednesday and feeling rubbish and ds sent home from school not well either so that’s my excuse for the gluttony Blush

EileenGC · 26/03/2021 17:54

I've just made a big pot of cheesy pasta with calabrese pesto. I had no other sauce but did have 3 packs of grated cheese that needed using ASAP as they would've gone mouldy otherwise. 15 minutes from kettle on to sauce mixed in! Grin

Inextremis · 26/03/2021 18:05

@brokengate - that's it, more or less - the eggs were just raw egg mixed in with the potato flesh and the (pan-fried) diced chorizo, grated cheese added and piled back into the skins, then baked at 200 degrees for about 20 mins until golden and risen a bit (that's the egg effect!). Just ate them, and they were lovely :)

Suzi888 · 26/03/2021 18:06

Enchiladas - from scratch. Not made by me Grin
