Mine would be a curry as dh hates it! Then letting all dogs sleep on our bed Grin

Chinese takeaway, and eating toast in bed the next morning.

Littlefluffyclouds13 · 25/03/2021 20:42

Dh and I have been living apart since last September (long story, covid related) and I've really enjoyed having breakfast cereal for tea without someone judging me Grin
I do miss him though!!

Onedaysomedaynowadays · 25/03/2021 20:53

Watching old episodes of stuff he doesn't like and I've seen 100 times before 🤣

When dh works away I like dips and toasted pitta bread and a bottle.of Sauvingon Blanc

HiyaMeAgain · 25/03/2021 21:02

My go to would be a nice soak in the bath, then something crap for dinner, then watch an old film while eating chocolate without having to share it 😂

GreenBalaclava · 25/03/2021 21:07

Fish for supper. He hates fish.

LegendDairy · 25/03/2021 21:13

Garlic mushrooms on toast, olives and feta cheese with a bottle of rioja

Potnoodleforbrains · 25/03/2021 21:15

Just the idea of not having proper dinner. Toast if that's all I fancy or crisps and chocolate while watching utter shite on TV.

MrsElf · 25/03/2021 21:18

Oh yes, the takeaway curries Grin
I take the dogs for a fish n chip or pasty picnic at the top of the local hill, especially if sunset is a nice reasonable hour... because early nights! Tea and long lasting dog chews and book in bed if it’s winter.
I am prone to redecorating - DH is worse than the dogs for being underfoot and because he doesn’t always notice and I think that is hilarious.

tinseloatcake · 25/03/2021 21:19

Not cooking. Or just eating prawns. Without cross buns. In bed.

This has actually become a humongous fantasy over lockdown. I miss him so much when he is away but I am desperate for that missing feeling. He is always just ... There...

Umbivalent · 25/03/2021 21:22

I am hopeless when DH is away. I always think "Yay! I'll do some pampering and eat and drink what I want!!" What I actually do is mooch around for a bit, spend time online then realise it's too late for pampering, so I go to bed. Pathetic!

queenofthenorthwest · 25/03/2021 21:27

Prob a joint, a pizza and a box of Lindt. Watching peep show.

FindingMeno · 25/03/2021 21:29

Fishfingers and chips for dinner with ketchup and no veg. Leave the washing up. Watch you tubes. Go to sleep listening to nature sounds.

cakebythepound1234 · 25/03/2021 21:33

@tinseloatcake I totally get the feeling of them just being there the whole time! My DH used to travel away for 5 days or so in one go, around once a month. I miss him loads when he's away, but since Covid he's not traveled at all and I miss my week of solo evenings after putting DS to bed!
My solo indulgence would be a huge plate of pasta like carbonara or fettuccine Alfredo, and then a packet of Dairy Milk giant buttons that I wouldn't have to share. And not having to talk for several hours! And to be able to spread out in bed! Bliss.

StrictlyAFemaleFemale · 25/03/2021 21:36

Lamb rogan josh
Any number of delicious vegetarian meals containing lots of aubergine and tomato.

NotOnMute · 25/03/2021 21:41

Radio on all night without having to bother with headphones. Thai takeaway (the DC love Thai, and so do I, but DH always wants burgers or pizza). Sleeping with the curtains and windows wide open (only on very warm nights in the summer, when around 2am you suddenly get a deliciously cool waft of air).

YesPleaseMary · 25/03/2021 21:43

Junk food, pyjamas, Radio 3, knitting, snuggle up with the cat, sleep on my back.

Justmuddlingalong · 25/03/2021 21:45

A massive dish of 3 cheese macaroni. And any TV channel that's not SYFY.

scrivette · 25/03/2021 21:45

Takeaway curry or Chinese, reading in bed then sleeping in the middle.

Pre children DH has a job that requires him to be away overnight occasionally and I really enjoyed it (also enjoyed it when he got to stay in nice hotels and I came along too).

PlatinumBrunette · 25/03/2021 21:46

I’m planning this right now - can’t wait! Firstly, a ready meal paella. A ton of fruit to pick at. The whole bed. My choice of TV in the evening. Peace, quiet, heavenly quiet. Oh yeahhh 🥰

MotherWol · 25/03/2021 22:13

DH is away for work at the moment, so my evening has been a M&S ready meal and rewatching Hamilton. A night where I don’t have to cook or clean up is bliss!

Howmanysleepsnow · 25/03/2021 22:24

Ooh, I was remembering those days today!
Having the TV turned off.
Being able to hoover/ polish without complaints about the noise/ smell. Being able to do housework when the kids are in bed (he’d tell me to leave it and watch tv with him. I don’t like much tv.) instead of the brief window in the day when he’s out (he mostly wfh.)
Not eating meals if I don’t want to.
Ready meal paella or lobster mac and cheese.
Olives/ feta/ artichokes etc as a meal.
Long dog walks on my own in school hours.
Long baths.

plominoagain · 25/03/2021 22:35

If the summer , getting out for a really long ride without having to be back in time for dinner . Ditto faffing about on the stable yard tittivating ponies and sorting out tack room all over the patio without eye rolls ..

MinnieMountain · 26/03/2021 06:03

I’d make kedgeree. DH hates the smell of poaching fish.
