Can anyone help me work out who this psychologist / writer is?

I was listening to a psychologist on the radio with my son a few months ago and I said I'd look up his books - and now I can't remember who he was.

He had re-worked a book he originally released 10 years ago. He talked a bit about how continually striving for happiness was unrealistic and unhelpful. He was English. I'd say around 40ish, as he was taking about his son who was in his early teens.

Does anyone have any suggestions about who it was?

No idea but sounds interesting. I fancy a bit of happiness and contentment!

Are you on Twitter? I'd ask Claudia Hammond, if I were you. She presents All in the Mind on Radio 4. She's @claudiahammond

And also the Reality Slap

Is it Russ Harris? He has published a book called the Happiness Trap, as well as some others.

Might it be Oliver Burkeman? He's written books about that sort of topic, and he's got a column in the Guardian so is media friendly enough to be a candidate

Love the efficiency of this place! It was Russ Harris - thanks everyone Smile
