AlCalavicci · 24/03/2021 15:50

Yep , i would . Bad fish is revolting smelling there is no way you would eat it . trust your nose

FeistySheep · 24/03/2021 15:51

Yes absolutely. Sometimes fish goes off before its use by date, sometimes it goes off after. But you always know!!

billyt · 24/03/2021 15:54

Be very careful. I'm pretty sure packaged fish have an inbuilt calendar so they start stinking the minute the date changes. Grin

FGS, it's less than a day out. If it smells bad don't eat it. Don't go by some date that the producer has pulled out of a hat.

StandardPoodle · 24/03/2021 18:36

Provided it doesn't stink, yes. I've certainly eaten fish a day over its use-by date and never had any ill-effects.

WeatherwaxLives · 24/03/2021 18:41

Yep. I used to work in food manufacturing supplying supermarkets (desserts). Tesco have the rule that you have to have proof stuff is safe 2 days past the use by - it allows for people taking stuff out of the fridges to get it home and not being particularly quick about it - so I am always happy to eat stuff the day after use by.
