Tell me about your tubal litigation please

4 children and definitely done, 4 c sections so not frightened of surgery, over 40 so a bit frightened of the breast cancer risks with the pill, terrible mood swings and dips in sex drive with other contraceptives- but open to suggestions on what has worked for you!

I had tubal ligation after my children. Done as a day case. No problems, although terrible abdominal pains caused by the gas they inflate your abdomen with darting around my internal organs. Lasted just a day. Two tiny scars and never regretted it for a minute

@dontsaveusername were you awake? Do they give you the choice?

I had mine during my last csection. It was recommended while I was pregnant so I consented and it was done along with c section. I had light bleeding for about 2 months afterwards. Discomfort for about the same time, but was bearable without needing paracetamol.

I get my periods regularly as normal and it's definitely a good thing to never worry about contraception.

I was asleep. I don’t think you could do this without, but it was a while ago. I was sure at 30 I was done with pregnancies.

I had mine done at 41, am childfree by choice. Was a day case under GA. had mild discomfort at incision sites the next day and the shoulder-tip pain you get from the gas, but that only lasted a day. It made no difference whatsoever to my periods obviously, and I’m thrilled I’ve had it done, it gives great peace of mind.
