How does my phone know I’m on my period!?

Very odd, and I am finding this quite sinister and unsettling!

I take the pill back to back and have about 4 periods a year. One started yesterday. Ever since then, literally almost all my adds are for sanitary products. They never are usually.

I have not:
Written anything on my phone about my period (until now).
Googled anything to do with periods.
Spoken out loud about being on my period.

So how does it know!? It’s very noticeably ALL the ads I’m seeing. I don’t like it!

Ads not adds.

Did you recently buy sanitary products? Where did you buy them?

PutTheCakeDOWN · 23/03/2021 06:00

No! I use a moon cup which I’ve had for a few years.

Did you discuss your period with anyone ?

AtlasPine · 23/03/2021 06:01

Phones have ears

Dyrne · 23/03/2021 06:02

It might just be confirmation bias - you may see them all the time but ignore them as they aren’t relevant, but this time they’re catching your eye.

AtlasPine · 23/03/2021 06:02

Or message anyone mentioning it?

PutTheCakeDOWN · 23/03/2021 06:09

I haven’t discussed it with or mentioned it to anyone.

That’s what I thought at first @Dyrne but it’s not that - I never usually see them and now it’s literally a flood (ha) of reusable pads, cups, period pants etc etc

Or do you go to boots every month at the same time?

Littleroundsponge · 23/03/2021 06:18

Do you have a period tracker app on your phone? If so, could be that. Very strange either way 🤔

orpah · 23/03/2021 06:22

Definitely confirmation bias
